Remember back in March when I introduced you to the ‘Cinderella High-Heel Church,’ located in Budai, Chiayi County? Well, seeing we were in the area, we decided to also check out these 3D art murals on that Sunday as well.
This collection of 3D murals are located near a couple of pretty nice temples and are scattered here and there around several alleyways. Most seem to have an ‘under the sea’ theme while some focus on Snow White, with the Hulk and an Old Man thrown in for good measure [his name skips my mind at the moment – please help me out here.]
I give myself a big pat on the back because, although the place was swarming with Taiwanese day trippers at that particular time, I managed to get several pictures without anybody blocking the view of the murals. Mind you, it took a lot waiting around in the sun and a lot of patience with the camera on standby to click the shutter button at the right time [as one person moved away and before the next one took position.]
Also, can you believe that the most unpopular image there was the dragon below? Personally, I think it is the coolest one among the bunch and yet, most people walked right passed it. I guess different strokes for different folks.
And during our time there, I found myself looking up most of the time, admiring the details of the temples. Plus, I ended up buying the cutest baby bodysuits there from a roadside stand – totally random, I know.
Like I said above, the murals are located in Budai, Chiayi County. We parked neared Chiayi Hao Mei Elementary School [嘉義好美國小 in Chinese] which is just meters away from some of the murals. I suggest entering the school name into Google Maps and letting that guide the way.
