Back to the Grindstone

Coffee, Flowers, and a Chapter from My Book
Coffee, Flowers, and a Chapter from My Book [taken with a smartphone]
I thought I would write a quick note or two to let you all know that I am still here and that I am still committed to writing, to my blog, and to my book.

It’s been nearly an entire month since I have written anything, but I am happy to report that I am back to the grindstone today.

My first order of business is get back to writing my book. It is taking me longer than expected to finish, but I only have a few sections left and the initial draft will be completed. Exciting times!!!

And to get my mind off of things the other day, I decided to spice up my blog by choosing a new theme and changing the layout. I actually had another theme chosen, but I ran into some problems.  After asking for assistance on one of the WordPress help forums, I realized that all my posts needed some adjustments in order to use the initial one which would take too much time. So, the second option will have to suffice for now.

Hope you all had a great summer and I look forward to chatting with you all soon.

[The above picture was taken awhile ago, but it has flowers, coffee, and a chapter of my manuscript – needless, to say, I like it!!]

The last month was probably one of the hardest months of my life and I can’t say that I am completely over the shock and loss. I guess, with time, the pain will go away and I will be more open to discussing it, but as of now, it is too hard.

Thanks for understanding and for your kind words.

  1. Welcome back Constance.

Love the new layout on your blog.

Are they gardenias on your table? We had lots on one side of the fence. Are they slightly waxy and sweetly scented? I think they’re more common / popular in the East than in the West.

These gardenias are highly evocative of a life once lived …… perhaps it will appear in my life again if I can get them.

  2. Welcome back, Constance. Happy to see that you are back, and lots of hugs to you. Love the new theme – clean and fresh, I really like it a lot. That is a very lovely photo you took. What a tease, part of your book. Good luck with the rest of it and enjoy the writing process, the journey 🙂

    1. Thanks, Mabel! It is good to be back writing. It is proving to be a distraction – something that I need right now. I am glad you like the new look of my blog. I have been meaning to do it for quite some time as I have been using the other theme for over two years.

  3. Glad that you are back. 🙂

One thought about pain. For me, emotional pain doesn’t really go away, what happens with time is just that you get used to it and can deal with it better so as to not let it mess your life up. I hope it goes better for you. 🙂

  4. Glad to have you back, Constance! Looking forward to your posts and I’m sure I’m not the first one to say this – please take all the time you need to fully heal and recover 🙂
