[Photographing 2015] – The Ninth Week

Have you ever left home with your camera in hand to go for a drive and maybe a stroll with the no expectations, no intentions? However, you just happened to stumble upon something very cool and it ended up being a great night filled with lots of fun?

Well, that is what exactly happened to me during the ninth week of 2015.

We left home one Saturday afternoon and once again found ourselves in Lugang. What I thought would be a quick tour of the historical temples and old street turned into a fun, eventful night – a night filled with dragon dances, firecrackers, and entertainment!

And let’s not forgot the Changhua Flower Festival which we attended on Friday that week!!

Here is a sample of the pictures I took during the ninth week of 2015. Hope you enjoy!

  1. I do that all the time. I mean driving out with no apparent reason or purpose at all. Driving aimlessly is one of my favorite way to de-stress!

It was amazing how you were able to get onto the rail tracks to take that picture of the train going away. Please don’t tell me that it is actually train approaching! Here the rail tracks are always fenced on both sides, so unless we want to do something illegal, we will stay clear!

  2. I just love it when you come across something completely unexpected. Love the dragons! I think the last time I saw one would be about 5 years ago when I was still in Mauritius. But my favourite is the lonely lantern one.

  3. I loved flower heart photo, and the drum ones were very, very cool. The action captured very well and I’d say these three photos are my favorite. So much to see in Taiwan, Constance. I’m not surprised your camera gets a good workout most times you go out with it.

Like you, I always make sure I have my camera with me because when you’re out, you never know what you’re going to see or what will come your way…or who you will meet 🙂 There are so many times when I’ve went out to buy a snack and ended up wandering elsewhere. Today I went out for a walk at the park and saw that one of the parliament buildings in the city had an Open House. So naturally I went in and took photos and forgot about the park completely until I came home 😀

    1. I never really knew there were so many things to photograph until I started taking my camera everywhere!

And I can get easily distracted as well. I am glad you took the opportunity to photograph one of the parliament buildings as it sounds like a rare opportunity. There is always tomorrow to snap pictures in the park! 🙂

  4. The lonely lantern in the first pictures looked like a bird first to me. The prince and princess, it is intentionally that they are just like Lego models?

I really really should get out with my camera, now the sun even started to appear again 🙂

  5. I love the 3rd dragon photo! I hope he brought you much luck!

It seems now I can’t leave the house, without my camera (camera phone included). There’s always something to be snapped, even if like you say you had no expectations to!

  6. Love it! Lately I did kind of not take the camera with me when going for a walk and I’m doing this again (but now it’s about building the courage to take some portraits again) but it is true that when you do you might stumble on something great like you did!
I love the pictures with the drum! And the bike one too! They are great!

  7. Lovely pictures! Taiwan can really be a great place for photography. Those vivid colors, soft light and luscious nature… It all seems to be meant to be photographed!!

  8. I love reading your blog. Your pictures are always so amazing and give me ideas of things i want to go see….My mom is coming next week for a visit and Lugang is on our list of places to go. My favorite picture today is the dragon dance.
