Bears, Bears Everywhere [Part 2]
As the 2014 Teddy Bear Lohas Carnival in Taichung begins to wind down and draws to a close, I thought I should post the second installment before it actually finishes on Sunday, January 11th, 2015.
December proved to be a busy month for me with some chapters closing and new ones beginning. Thus, due to the number of changes occurring in my life, I had to see the second part of the ‘carnival’ on a Saturday. And although there were massive crowds, it was still an enjoyable experience overall as people were respectful of others taking photos.
The weather was quite chilly that day but that didn’t influence our good spirits as we headed to Calligraphy Greenway – an area smack dab in the middle of the busiest area in Taichung, an area known for its greenery and large open space.
And like I said in a previous post, the two most popular areas to see the bear displays are Maple Garden (which I covered before) and Calligraphy Greenway. The bears are evenly scattered along the pathways and are a short walking distance from each other. Most of the bears have been sponsored by local organizations, businesses, and restaurants. Each bear has been uniquely designed to reflect the sponsor’s logo and purpose.
It is free to roam around and look at the displays. Personally, I like the fact that it doesn’t cost a dime (or I guess I should say it doesn’t cost a NT dollar).
Now, over to you! Do any of these bears stand out or catch your eye? Be sure to let me know by dropping me a line in the comment box below!
~~And I apologize for so many pictures in advance!~~
