Preparations are well underway for the 2014 Taichung Flower Festival which starts this Saturday, November 8th, 2014 and continues until Sunday, December 7th, 2014. From the photos I have seen on facebook and the design schematics posted on the internet, it looks like it is going to be pretty spectacular again this year.
I think it is important to mention that it is a free event which attracts many visitors, so arrange your time to attend accordingly. It is very popular on weekends which means huge crowds and lots of traffic. Plus, the weather is cooler now so it will attract even more visitors. Personally, I love to go early on a weekday as there tends to be fewer people, making it an ideal time to photograph the perfectly arranged and geometrically designed fields of flowers.
For more information about the festival, feel free to check out a previous post that I wrote last year, the Festival’s facebook page, or the official website of the festival (which has an English section).
I will be dedicating a post entirely to the festival after I attend which will include lots of pictures, my personal thoughts about the arrangements, and more info – so, watch this space!
The photos included in this post were taken at the 2013 Taichung Flower Festival. I just realized that I hadn’t shared them on my blog yet, so I thought I would take the opportunity to do so now!!
What types of festivals do you like to attend? Have you ever attended a flower festival before?
