Out with the Old & In with the New: My Favorite Pictures of 2013!

Life is constantly speeding by. Time ticks, the sun rises and sets, and the seasons change.  Days pass, weeks fly by, months add up and before you know it, an entire year has passed right before your very eyes.

With the one year ending, it brings with it a sense of accomplishment, a time to reflect over the past year!  And with a new year approaching, it  brings a sense of renewal, fresh starts, and new beginnings.

So, I thought I would begin 2014 with a photo post!!  Here is a collection of my favorite photos taken in 2013!  Hope you enjoy!

~1~ Greeting 2013 with a bang!  Awesome fireworks display at E-Da World in Kaohsiung, Taiwan!

~2~ Beautiful close-ups!  These two photos are the most clicked photos and were included in my most popular post of the year (in terms of hits!)  I included both because I couldn’t decided which one was better.

~3~ Tung Hua season in Taiwan!  This photo represents a wonderful day spent hiking this year and a blog post that has yet to be written!

~4~ Enjoying the lights at the Taiwan Lantern Festival!  Love the creativity and vast abundance and size of the lanterns at the festival!  Working on a post about this festival which will be published soon, so watch this space for more pictures and info!

~5~ Qing Shui Cliff – a piece of paradise in Taiwan!

~6~ The beauty of Taiwan hiking – one place we discovered in 2013!

~7~ Roaming around CKS Memorial Hall on a beautiful day in May!  And thinking about how the place served as a ‘GPS!’

~8~ Remembering how this blog started on a typhoon day in July!

~11~ I absolutely love sunsets and this collection wouldn’t be complete without including some of my sunset photos of 2013!

~12~ I became a fan of art in 2013! And why wouldn’t I?  I discovered some unique finds!

~13~ Taking in the changing of the Guards in Taipei proved to be some great photo opps!

~14~ I entered my very first writing contest and won gold for my piece about Taiwan!  Thanks to all for reading and commenting!

~15~ Writing about the Taichung Jazz Festival proved to be instrumental!  Some of my photos that I took at the festival were selected to be published in a magazine due out this month!

  1. Yay! I was hoping you would do one of these. Love all of them and you sure do know how to take pictures of fireworks! Looks like a super fun year, wishing you all the best for 2014 and hope to run into you one day! 🙂

  2. What brilliant photos from a great year! My favourite is Qing Shui Cliff – I love beaches that have a bit of personality and this looks stunning. Happy travels in 2014, I’m looking forward to following them 🙂

  3. I’m totally in love with your flower photos. They all remind me of my unforgettable stay in the Netherlands last summer. Great photos! Wishing you all the best for 2014, more travel inspiration, a lot of adventures on the road and I really hope to meet you in person!

  4. I always thought of Taiwan as super urban, so it’s never been high on my list. Maybe I’m totally wrong about that–I really love your hiking photos Especially that beautiful beach. Maybe I’ll have to get there one of these days!

  5. Wow, Taiwan looks fabulous! All I’ve seen of it so far is the inside of the airport. 🙂 Congratulations on your accomplishments last year. You have a lot to be proud of. Here’s a virtual pat on the back.

  6. Too many awesome pictures! I have a dream to travel the world following various festivals at some point and it seems this lantern festival in Taiwan would be making that list 🙂 Thanks for the tip!
